Game Recap: Waconia 4, Minneapolis 4.

After a dominant overtime period from Waconia, the score still stayed the same.

1st Period: The whole first period was very competitive between two very evenly matched teams. Waconia striked first about half way through the period when the puck was sent up the boards to Danny Appelgren and Danny shot opposite side to put the Cats up 1-0. The rest of the period was again very fast paced and competitive but no one else could put one in.

2nd Period: Just 22 seconds into the period, Minneapolis put one in the net. After the game was all tied up and the period was almost over, Minneapolis scored again to put them with a one goal advantage. So after two periods of play, the score was 2-1 Minneapolis.

3rd Period: The third period was full of action, mainly for Waconia, but things didn't start off so great initially. Minneapolis scored 3 minutes into the period but that didn't kill any momentum for the Wildcats. Just 52 seconds later, Tommy Lindstrom responded when Eli Bruellman shot for a rebound and Lindstrom was right there to put the biscuit in the basket. 31 seconds later Minneapolis tried to bury the Wildcats. They put in a goal and they were done scoring for the night. Time passed and it was time for the Cats to score. Ayden Rakos won the draw and went directly to the net for a pass. Jack O'Brien found him in front and Rakos took a shot and got his own rebound. With 3 minutes remaining, Waconia scored to tie the game at 4. Adam Yanik took the puck wide and fed Zac Holm with a perfect pass and Holm redirected the puck into the net. That goal sent the game into overtime.

OT: Waconia started the extra time with a powerplay and had plenty of scoring chances but couldn't capitalize. Waconia dominated the overtime period but couldn't seem to find the back of the net as you could probably tell,

Good comeback but OT couldn’t decide this one.
